I was contacted a few weeks ago by Kiss Me Organics and asked if I would be willing to review their Organic Green Tea Matcha. First, I wanted to know what in the heck Matcha was. That’s not something I had ever heard of, so I admit I did a little research before agreeing to try this product. Matcha is a green tea powder that provides many health benefits.
Organic Matcha has many different benefits, such as:
- Giving you all day energy with increased focus. It provides four to six hours of mild steady energy as it acts as both a stimulant and a relaxant.
- It gives your metabolism a boost as it can increase thermogenesis (the body’s rate of burning calories) from a normal 8-10% daily expenditure to between 35-43%.
- Improved skin health. Scientists discovered Matcha helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays while improving blood flow and oxygen levels lifting the overall quality of the skin.
- It has 137x the antioxidants of brewed green tea. The antioxidants are essential as you age to boost your body’s natural defenses against oxidation. It prevents many age related diseases.
After reading all of the information I could find about it, I decided to give it a try. After all, I can use all the help I can get to improve my health, and the fact that it’s USDA Certified Organic was even better (if you recall, my family and I try to buy organic products as often as we can). Another huge plus for me is that, as far as I can tell, Organic Matcha is allowed on the Paleo Diet. Yay!
Kiss Me Organics matcha powder, is sold exclusively to Amazon. After ordering, I was almost immediately emailed a 50 plus recipe book in PDF format. It’s a good thing too, because I needed to know how to use the Matcha. The book has a variety of recipes from smoothies and lattes to breads and meat dishes. I chose to first try a smoothie recipe, since it was the easiest and I love my smoothies!
Barry Good Morning Smoothie
1/2 cup cold orange juice
1 tsp Matcha
2 tsp warm water
1/3 cup chopped strawberries
1/3 cup blueberries
1/2 banana, sliced
Mix Matcha and warm water until blended. Add all ingredients to blender and run until smooth. If needed, add more orange juice or water for a thinner smoothie. Makes one smoothie.
I added ice to mine too. With all the fruit and juice in the smoothie, I could barely taste the Matcha. It was really good!
