Author: Cancer has once again touched a member of my family, for the first time since 1999. Now, it is our child…my oldest step-son, Tyler. He is 21 years old and a Junior at the state university and is set to graduate a semester early. His dream is to become an English Professor.
On Friday evening, during an ice storm, we were given the devastating news that he has stage 4 cancer. He had biopsy surgery on Saturday morning, and another surgery Monday morning to place a port in his shoulder. Having the port told us just how often he will have to have chemotherapy. Shortly before the second surgery, we were informed that it appears he may have a secondary cancer, because the first does not normally spread like it has. They will biopsy the liver later this morning to see just what other type we are dealing with.
I am speaking God’s healing for this young man, and peace for the family. I pray for peace, strength and blessings on Tyler, his dad and I, for Tyler’s mom and step-father and for his siblings. Please, will you stand with me in prayer? Matthew 18:20 says “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” God is still in the miracle and healing business and there is power in prayer!
We have the hashtag #PrayForTyler trending locally. Let’s take it further than that to spread awareness for cancer!

I can’t stop thinking about you guys today — I continue to pray for all of you. A very difficult road to walk down and so hard to trust God’s plan, I’m sure. Please continue to keep us updated about Tyler’s progress and let him know that people in Minnesota are praying for him and are thinking about him.
