When my daughter tries to be funny, she’s not funny. But she naturally comes up with some off the wall stuff that will leave you rolling and tears streaming. Here are just a few of the off the wall things she has come up with over the past month or so:
“We have many different religions in our school; Jewish, Christian, Catholic, Country Bumpkin, Chinese….”
“You make me wanna punch a Teletubby in the face!”
“I want my dad and Uncle Eric to race in high heels!”
“Mom, I don’t have acorns anymore”, said as she’s pointing to her chest, “they are little bubbles.”
Faith: “Dad, you have hairy arm pits. Do you brush them?”
Rick: “Yes, and I use your brush”
Me: “Don’t say that, Rick. Faith will believe it!”
Faith: “That’s true. I believe everything I hear. I’m gullible.”
Rick: “I gotta make a move.”
Faith: “What move? A bowel MOVEment?”
Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the world! He’s been in Heaven for 11 years now, and not a day goes by when I don’t miss him. I thank God every day that he was chosen by God to be my dad and that I had 21 years with him. Love and miss him so much! I’m Forever and Always, a Daddy’s Girl.
Happy Father’s Day to my husband! Not only is he a wonderful husband, but he is an awesome dad to his kids and to his step-son, whom he’s always treated as his own. He has always worked hard to provide for all of our kids; at times holding down more than one job and working odd hours. He has made so many great memories with his kids, and is such a great story teller (a trait Tyler has inherited) and he’s such a funny person. He always makes sure his kids know how proud he is of them, and how much he loves them…even when they do wrong. As a father, he has also went through trials and hardships that most dads don’t go through, and should never have to go through. I know that I wouldn’t have handled those trials with the grace he has. One thing no one should ever question is his love for his kids. I love you, Rick…Happy Father’s Day! We are so blessed to have you!
Today is my baby girls twelfth Birthday! I can’t believe twelve years have passed since I gave birth to this beautiful girl!
Twelve years ago, she had a rough beginning. During the middle of a cesarean section, I coded (I had a cardiopulmonary arrest ) due to a reaction to the anesthesia I had just been given. Thankfully, they were able to get my heart started again, but not before the oxygen and blood flow was cut off from my baby. She spent two days in NICU with an I.V. in her head. By the Grace of God, we both made a fast recovery and was out of the hospital by day four.
This is the part where I would post the picture of her with the i.v in her head…she looked so pitiful, but since I am nearly 600 miles from home and our family album….I’ll have to make due with some of her baby pictures I have in online storage.
For twelve years, and I pray, for the rest of her life, she has been a very healthy girl. And every year that passes, she becomes even more beautiful; a fact that has her dad and I very nervous. I can’t believe in just two short years, she will be starting high school. *sigh*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FAITH!! I love you so much, baby girl, and I’m so proud of you! =)
